Can't make Geekbench 2 Pro stand-alone
I installed Geekbench 2 Pro ($79.99) about a year ago on my MBP.
Now I want to run it on a Windows machine too, so I followed the
instructions in the "Geekbench 2 Pro Standalone Mode" article.
At first GB2 kept crashing on launch, which was solved by removing
the "GB2prefs" folder. The latest release of GB2 seemed to solve
that.
Next I created a new folder on a USB drive containing the latest
GB2 app and a folder called "Geekbench2.preferences". When I ran
GB2 I was not asked for the license (probably because it was
already licensed on that machine) but I saw the option to Export a
license, which I presumed meant I should put it in the
"Geekbench2.preferences" folder. When I run the Windows version
from the same folder, it asks for the license (which I type in) and
even tells me "All restrictions have been removed", but then only
runs in demo mode.
What am I doing wrong?

What I do to create my own stand alone is to install the regular . download of Geekbench 2 ndd unlock and run it once. Now all you have to do is copy over the x86 folder from your programs folder or wherever you installed it. Put it on a flash drive. This works on everyone of my systems even without an internet connection. Type in the email and key one the next system it already knows this but it just verifies it. I usually just keep a text file with this to copy paste. See if this works for you don.

Hi Don,
I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
The latest version of Geekbench 2 makes setting up a standalone installation much easier. Once you've downloaded Geekbench 2 just follow these steps:
Copy Geekbench to a directory on removable media (e.g., on a USB stick).
Launch Geekbench. If you haven't already, enter your Geekbench 2 Pro license key.
Click on the Tools menu.
Click on the Export License File menu item.
Select the directory on removable media and click OK.
You should now have a fully-licensed Geekbench 2 Pro standalone installation. If you don't please let me know and we'll investigate the issue further.
