Have both Geekbench 2.1 and Geekbench 3 on my Windows machine. However, Geekbench 3 throws an error.

Internal time error detected
Geekbench has detected a 4.24s difference.....

Geekbench 2.1 runs without a hitch. What should I do?

I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Generally the "internal timer error detected" message occurs when Geekbench detects a discrepancy between the high-resolution timers it uses to measure performance and the low-resolution clock used to keep time. While we added this error message to prevent people from manipulating the benchmark results it appears that it's affecting more users than we had originally anticipated.

We're hoping to improve the way we handle these internal timer errors in an upcoming update.

    Best,
    John

I am getting this error now with no change in hardware or software, I'm suddenly getting the error. Is there a Geekbench fix available yet or a setting in Windows/Parallels to fix this?

I run Geekbench 3.1.4 Mac on my 2013 Retina MacBook Pro each month, tabulate results and it works fine.

I then run Geekbench 3.1.4 Win on Parallels/Win 7 on same machine to monitor for performance degradation etc. It has worked fine in the past but now crashes with the Internal Timer error.

Approximately how much of a discrepancy is the internal timer error reporting? Could you take a screenshot of the internal timer error dialog box and post it to this thread?

    Thanks,
    John

Just tried it again to take the screenshot and now it works, no problems at all! Will take shot and post if it happens again.

    Thanks

I also tried to replicate it, but it works now. A month ago it didn't work, but it does now.

I'm happy to hear that everything's working now. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you ever have problems with Geekbench in the future.

    Best,
    John
