3.1 for iOS does not work
Not sure if it's because it posted early (today is Sept 13 and the app is dated Sept 14), but Geekbench 3.1 fails on all devices.
App will not open. Multiple iOS devices, new and old, all running iOS 6.1.3, all fail.

We're looking into the problem right now. I'm sorry for the inconvenience that this crash is causing both of you.

Actually the app does open it just hangs. I'm using iPhone 5 with 6.1.4. My iOS 7 device is at work and I can't try it out.

From what we can tell this only affects devices running iOS 6.1. We're actively looking into the problem and I will post here once we have some answers.

Please let me know when a new update becomes available that will work with iOs 6.1.3.
Just purchased the benchmark for my new ipad4 and get the same response as soon as an attempt to open the app. I'd rather get a working version than a refund.
Thank you,
Erick

We've talked to Apple and it turns out the crash is the result of a bug in Apple's FairPlay DRM on iOS 6. Apparently FairPlay cannot handle "fat binaries" that contain 64-bit code on iOS 6. Apple is working on a fix, but I don't know when the fix will be available.
The good news is that this bug isn't present on iOS 7, so Geekbench 3.1 will work on any device running iOS 7.
Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience this issue is causing everyone.

6.1.3/4 could be the final version of iOS for quite a few legacy Apple devices. Sorry to point out the obvious, but part of what makes Geekbench valuable is the ability to compare results from legacy devices to newer devices. Seems like another approach is necessary. Thanks for the explanation nonetheless while we wait.

Just wanted to say I downloaded 2 benchmarks on my ipad this week. The free one worked fine and Geekbench which I PAID for is a basket case that wigs out every time I try to open it. You are blaming this on Apple but isn't it incumbent on the developer to test it's products on the various versions of the iOS? I think I will be steering clear of Primate products in the future.

Robert,
It's absolutely our responsibility to test our software. However, in this particular case, the bug affects applications downloaded from the App Store. Our own development builds were unaffected. There was no way we could've caught this bug ahead of time.
Geekbench 3.1.1, which removes 64-bit benchmarks to fix iOS 6 compatibility, is now available in the App Store. We'll restore 64-bit benchmarks in 3.1.2 (which will be iOS 7 only).
Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to help out.
Best,
John

3.1.2 currently does not run on iOS 6, where I can download version 3.1.1 for iOS 6?

You should be able to download Geekbench 3.1.1 for iOS 6 directly from the iTunes App Store using the "Last Compatible Version" functionality.
