I've just upgraded my MacBook Air to the newest model and I've used the latest version of Geekbench 2 to evaluate its performance in OS X Mountain Lion and Windows 7, and I'm quite surprised that the results are really far away from each other, scoring 6785 points in OS X and 7761 in Windows 7.

Can anyone shed some light to this?

I've run the tests with the new Geekbench 3 and the results are much more balanced, with total scoring Mac/Win of 2616/2611 (single core) and 5032/5020 (multicore)

This is what I expected from a cross-platform benchmarking tool and I'll be pleased to receive some feedback about the Geekbench 2 results.

There are a couple of known issues with Geekbench 2 that can cause Geekbench 2 to report significantly different scores on the same hardware running different operating systems. These issues have been addressed in Geekbench 3 which, as you can tell, produces much more consistent results across platforms.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to help out.
