Linux version of Geekbench requires GLIBC 2.15, why?

Why does Geekbench 3 require GLIBC 2.15 or later? That is practically only Linux OSes released within the last year, excluding even Slackware 13.37 and ALL versions of RedHat Enterprise Linux (until 7 comes out). This makes the Linux version, well, rather useless. I don't have access to a single Linux machine with GLIBC-2.15. Have many that are 2.12. Cannot Geekbench 3 be built around glibc-2.12 to at least run on machines as "old" as 2011?

Thank you for your message. We're actively looking into ways of producing a build of Geekbench for Linux that runs on older Linux distributions. We hope to have something ready over the next couple of weeks.
