Fresh install of Geekbench 2.4 on new test server (new to our team; server has been live for several years). No errors during installation. GB has never been installed on this machine prior to today.

Launching results in "unhandled win32 exception ... [8086]" error (see attached). No GB dialogs are ever seen.

Machine info:
 - OS: Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition with SP 2
 - CPU: Xeon E5520 @ 2.27 GHz
 - Memory: 32GB

    Hi Alan,

Thank you for your message, and I'm sorry you're having problems running Geekbench. I'm not sure what the cause of that error message is off the top of my head, but I suspect it has something to do with a problem in our system information library. I'll dig into it and see if I can come up with something more definitive.

    Thanks,
    John

    Thanks, John.

I was able to get past the crash by running in the debugger (VS 2010). This allowed me to unlock Pro and get GB results. Subsequent launches still result in the crash, however, and I’m sure running inside the debugger severely skews the GB results.

Attached JPGs (GB debug info 1.jpg thru ...5.jpg) show the sequence.

    /Alan

    Hi Alan,

I'm sorry for the extreme delay in getting back to you.

Are you still having issues benchmarking your servers using Geekbench 2?

    Thanks,
    John

John, this has become a non-issue, since we are actively retiring all pre-2008 Windows Servers.

    Thanks,
    /Alan
