Command Line Geekbench for OS X
I'm benchmarking a whole collection of Mac systems and used to use the Geekbench command line tool to make this really quick and straightforward. However, having installed the latest version of Geekbench on my Mac, there is no option to install the command line tool. Attempting to run /Applications/Geekbench.app/Contents/Resources/geekbench_x86_64 results in the error 'Illegal instruction: 4'.
How do I run Geekbench from the command line on a Mac these days?

I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Could you send us any crash logs so we can investigate the problem? Crash logs are located in the Library folder. To locate the Library folder, choose 'Go to Folder' from Finder’s 'Go' menu and type:
Please send us any files in that directory that have Geekbench (or geekbench) in the filename.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
Thanks for getting back to me, and apologies for the delay in responding myself. On a clean OS X 10.8.5 system running Geekbench v2.4.3, any attempt to run the command line binary 'geekbench_x86_64' results in the "Illegal instruction: 4" error.
I've attached the crash log from the system. I see mention of the sandboxing system in OS X, so I'm wondering if this is an effect of this and if there is any way around it?
Thanks,
Andy.

Hi Andy,
Did you purchase Geekbench 2 from the Mac App Store or from the Primate Labs Store?
Thanks,
John

It was purchased from the Mac App Store - I wasn't sure you could order it any other way!
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi Andy,
I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Unfortunately the command-line utility is not available in Geekbench from the Mac App Store due to Apple security requirements. I would be happy, though, to transfer your App Store license into a website license. Could you email me directly at john at primatelabs dot com and I'll take care of it?
Thanks,
John
