My 27" iMac i7 quad core 2.93GHz 32GB which seems to run slow! Its gb2 score (64bit) on 01/09/13 was 10423! Today, 06/11/13, gb2 reports a score of only 8854!

it raises 2 questions in my mind:

A) what could cause that declining performance?

B) what are the scores of other iMac i7 quad core 2.93GHz Apple Computers?

I would very much appreciate a reply to this!
Best regards

    Hi Werner,

The average 32-bit score for your iMac is 8981, and the average 64-bit score is 10511. Given that your most recent score is so close to the average 32-bit score, is it possible that you ran Geekbench in 32-bit mode?

If that's not the case, there are many different issues that could cause a lower Geekbench score. An "easy" way to rule out software issues is to reinstall your operating system (don't forget to back up first!) and see if the problem persists. If it does, chances are you have a hardware issue. If that's the case, I'd recommend visiting your local Apple Store and seeing what they suggest.

    Best,
    John
