Thanks for reaching out to us! I'll pass your suggestions along to my team and see if we can incorporate one or more of them into a future update.

As for the primary app, I could probably create a rather long list, but first would be a persistent and live-updating preview window, for markdown and/or html work. Sausage fingers.

Mostly, I'm just happy someone still wants to keep the ole girl running. Thanks for that.

Aarontag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/443014802017-12-19T19:35:13Z2017-12-19T19:35:13ZiCloud Sync

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for the kind words. I'll pass your suggestions along as well. I'll also note (to avoid any confusion for those who don't know) that though Rich Text editing isn't currently supported on iOS, plain text editing is.

Regardless, thanks for your feedback and I'll see if we can address your concerns!

Is there a way to edit text on documents synced from the desktop? This
is what I was referring to, and I only seem to get the edit option on
documents originating on the mobile device. Optimally, I would like to
sync updated documents in either direction.

thanks,

Currently, you should be able to edit plain text and markdown pages created on the Mac version of VoodooPad. Pages created in the iOS version are plain text by default, and new pages will be created as markdown pages if "Markdown for new pages" is enabled in the iOS app settings.

You can create plain text or markdown pages in the Mac application by selecting them from the dropdown on the page creation dialogue (see the attached image) or by navigating to the Document tab of the Info palette and using the dropdown to determine what page type all new pages should be by default.

There's been demand for rich text support on iOS, and we're currently looking into how it could be implemented, but we can't provide any timelines or promises for that functionality at this time.

I was a longtime VoodooPad user from the Mac days but I do all my work on an iPad Pro (and occasionally my iPhone) these days. Further I'm rather all-in on paying iCloud storage so paying again for Dropbox to do the "same job" just to have sync between apps does not fly with my budget. While I have used VoodooPad to generate a website in the past, these days I'd be happy if the iOS version of VoodooPad just did all the core knowledge managements things a wiki provides (so generating an ouput to iCloud isn't really my use-case... it just keeping all the documents and meta-data in-sync between my iPhone and iPad -- where I use my iPhone mostly for capture and looking up bits for reference and I do most of my processing, creating, organization on my iPad.)

Shawn Mederotag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/443014802018-03-27T21:19:52Z2018-03-27T21:19:52ZiCloud Sync

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your feedback on the sync and mobile features! I'll pass your suggestions along to my team. We're currently working on a few exciting updates for the iOS version of VoodooPad, which we hope to talk a bit more about soon!

Make it optional if necessary, or make it optional per document, or get some kind of password decryption, but in today’s Apple environment the handoff ability is the standard. And for me, essential.

I recommend syncing with Dropbox for VoodooPad 5, and will recommend syncing with iCloud for VoodooPad 6.

This is somewhat orthogonal to Handoff, which I hope we can support in future versions of VoodooPad.

Johntag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/443014802019-10-07T01:54:01Z2019-10-07T01:54:02ZiCloud Sync

I’m delighted to head VoodooPad 6 is in the works. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for iCloud sync.

My current use case is pretty simple: I maintain notes on a Mac daily. Occasionally I view them on an iPhone. Editing on iOS is nice but not a requirement. Dropbox is blocked on the company network so I need some other way to keep things in sync: WebDAV, Git, iCloud, etc. I started using Apple’s Notes app for this and it made me hanker for VoodooPad.

A potential workaround occurs to me. Is it possible to automatically trigger a background web export on save or even change events? From there I can handle getting the HTML to my phone.

Mkbtag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/443014802019-10-07T01:56:01Z2019-10-07T01:56:06ZiCloud Sync

Er, I mean “hear,” not “head.” :)

Mkbtag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/443014802021-05-20T06:25:03Z2021-05-20T06:25:05ZiCloud Sync

Hi
I' am using VoodooPad on a MacPro at home, a MacBookAir once travelling (whenever we can travel again) and sometimes on my iPhone.
Getting tired to use Dropbox for syncing.
Reading the posts above iCloud sync is expected for version 6.
When can we expect to get VoodooPad v6? Last entry above is from Oct. 2019!!!
Thanks

Robert Reheis
