Linking to the Internet does not work

Hi,
If I either, make a Custom URL Link or Type a HyperLink, neither of them work as "live" links. This has been going on for over a year now.

I can, however, create a "One Time Link to the Internet" (ie Format ▸ Add Link).

I tried reinstalling VoodooPad from scratch (ie the supporting files got trashed also by Hazel.app when I moved the app to the trash.) Yet, still, I can't seem to get these links to work as hot links.
