I was pleased to see that Primate Labs has rescued VoodooPad from oblivion and might have a future after all. Best of look and good intention to Primate Labs. Looking forward to seeing more.

VoodooPad is still a rock solid performer even on High Sierra -- and you will undoubtedly be pressured to prettify it and make it look like all the other modern macOS apps. But please don't remove any functionality, especially the Lua and AppleScript support that have made it the powerful app that it is. Updating and modernizing the technology, especially where it got broken by the previous owners' neglect is obviously a no-brainer. But you bought a champ that has a lot of lives left in it, and some very loyal users and fans.

I'm just chiming in to say that I use Voodoo Pad every day - I have 10+ years of notes in my daily work journal. I hope that VP has found a good home!

    Hi Ed,

Thank you very much for your kind words. We're very grateful to be joining the active VoodooPad community, and we're looking forward to keeping it updated with feedback from users. While our current plans mostly consist of polishing up existing features within the app, we'll do our best to consult with the community before making any drastic changes which could substantially change your workflow.

If there's anything that you'd like to see changed in a future update, please be sure to let us know and we'll see if we can incorporate your thoughts!

    All the best,
    Colin

I could not go back beyond 2006 and Version 2.5. But I'm sure I purchased Voodoopad before.
    And, PLEASE, no subscription...

Yes! I don't mind paying for useful upgrades, but subscriptions kill choice.

Thanks guys, for giving Voodoopad more life! I’m excited for the future of this great app. I still use Voodoopad after 10 years and love it’s unique features.

If there was something that needs some lovin’ it’s gotta be the mobile app that has always been a bit ropey and lacking in user experience. With the updates in IOS since it was develped it could become very powerful indeed.

Nice to see Voodoopad rescued. I'm looking for something simpler than Scrivener and this may be the answer.

Please update the link to this website in the About Box of Voodoopad. It takes awhile to track down this site.

    Hi,

Thanks for the kind words! We certainly have our eye on improvements to the iOS version of VoodooPad, and we plan on changing the documentation and support links in VoodooPad as soon as possible to reflect their new locations. We currently don't have any plans for a subscription-based model, and we'll do our best to maintain a fair pricing system for VoodooPad as we develop it.

    All the best,

I suppose you know that "We currently don't have any plans for a subscription-based model" is not a totally reassuring statement...

For what it's worth I'm not a fan of subscription pricing for software.

We'll only introduce subscription pricing if we introduce features that have an ongoing cost for us to maintain (e.g., our own sync service), and we'll make sure you only need to subscribe if you use these features. Right now these sorts of features aren't really on our radar.

I'm also chiming in as a fervent long time VoodooPad user. Thank you! Thank you!

(I've been using VoodooPad every single day for the past 6 years to keep and organise my research notes. As of today my document contains 3,227 pages...)
