Can I use Geekbench to diagnose a problem with my system?

Hello,

I recently found strange problems with my laptop (Late 2011 Macbook pro Quad Core 2.2ghz 4 gig ram OS10.7.4). I am trying to sort out if it is hardware or software related. My model is ranked with a score of 10,000 on your site but my computer only reports back a score of 4000. Is this indicative of a hardware problem or could software related issues drag down the score? I don't understand your software well enough yet to make a good interpretation.

Regards,
Brian

Sorry, I should mention that I am using the free version of Geekbench in this evaluation.

    Hi Brian,

The problem could either be a hardware or software problem; it's difficult for Geekbench to tell if it's one or the other. When did you start to notice the strange problems with your laptop?

    Best,
    John
