My current 2 yo cheap zte z981 is on android 6 so I can't run geekbench 5 but my Geekbench 4 results show my single core scores as one of the highest (698-706) beating out many flagship phones. How is this possible?

the.13th.stray.cattag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/479935162020-01-13T03:57:05Z2020-01-13T03:57:05ZAndroid and geekbench 4 or 5

GB4 & GB5 scores are incompatible.

Artem S.
Your device is like 7-10 times slower than modern flagships.

Artem S. I love this phone and will probably keep it in service.. My next one will replace a relatively tiny k10 on my primary line.

It's a lot faster than the ZTE. Ran Geekbench 4 and score was 3514. Geekbench 5 was higher than the G8 score posted in the browser, 742 vs the posted 706, and it feels really fast with 0 lag.

Question for you benchers, at what score compared to my G8 where the lag might not be too noticeable? I'm a little unsatisfied with the g8's screen size and looking to find one with a bigger screen but can't go up too much on cost. The G8 seems tiny compared to my ZTE Z981. While the Z981 screen speced at only 6", it's an honest spec compared to the g8's 6.1 as the g8's actual content display is only about 5.5".

Any recommendations would sure be appreciated.

the.13th.stray.cattag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/479935162020-02-09T21:52:47Z2020-02-09T21:52:49ZAndroid and geekbench 4 or 5

Ended up buying a Xiaomi note8 pro. For anyone in the same situation as me that was looking for a lag-less phone for not a flagship price, I can say I'm satisfied with this one, Just tested on Geekbench 5 - 475 single core score is in pretty good company (Samsung s9 and most snapdragon 845 phone territory). Multi core score @1617 is just over half of the highest score on the browser but the phone "seems" as fast as my G8 at 2658.

the.13th.stray.cat
