I have been using the Geekbench tool for more than two years. I am currently using Geekbench 4 Pro. I have always had to evaluate computers with Intel CPUs. Now I am presented with the situation in which I have to evaluate AMD processors and the question arose if the scores of this benchmark were comparable between processor brands. That is, if in the market certain AMD processor is said to be equivalent to a certain Intel processor, Geekbench will yield similar results?

Thank you in advance!

Fabián tag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/474002202019-07-02T07:03:41Z2019-07-02T07:03:42ZIntel CPUs vs AMD CPUs

Yes they are comparable simply because they are binary compatible.

On the other hand, in recent years, comparing even the same model CPU is no longer possible. Current benchmarking methods have become lost in the dynamic power management advances. To bring some comparison back, the big question is: What is the clock rate of each test's processor core during testing?

And that extra clock rate data itself would become an averaged number beside the individual score.

joe9000
