It’s still under AppleCare, so I’d love to know if I can prove that it’s running slower than it should using Geekbench and get them to replace the battery.

My CPU score is 1430 single, 2471 multi. Metal is 8677. These numbers are lower than what came up on https://browser.geekbench.com/ios-benchmarks, so that indicates my phone is slower than average right?

It would be great if, now that the news is out that Apple is slowing down older phones, the Geekbench app could tell the user if their phone is artificially slowed down, and by how much, generating a report that could be used to prove to Apple the phone needs a new battery while still under warranty.

Nicktag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/443592142018-01-04T21:57:58Z2018-01-04T21:58:38ZCan I use Geekbench to tell if my iPhone 6S is suffering from slow down with an old battery?

Hi Nick,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this. For iPhone SE, 6, 6s, and 7 devices (including Plus variants), if you suspect that your device is affected by battery issues then we recommend running a CPU benchmark several times over 3-4 days. If your device's scores are consistently lower than expected then it may be due to battery-related performance issues, and we would recommend bringing your device to an Apple Store for inspection and potentially a battery exchange.

The Benchmark Charts on the Geekbench Browser provide aggregate results for a variety of devices based on user submissions. If your scores are lower than the Chart scores for the same device, it means that Geekbench is measuring your device's performance to be lower than the average for other devices of the same model.

All the best,
The battery was subject to the product recall so I had it replaced. With the new battery the score jumped to 2530.

malkietag:support.primatelabs.com,2011-01-31:Comment/443592142018-01-05T09:02:28Z2018-01-05T09:02:28ZCan I use Geekbench to tell if my iPhone 6S is suffering from slow down with an old battery?

Thanks!
