Geekbench is reporting 1 processor and 2 cores when the server has 2 processors and 8 cores. Please Explain.

Looks like a bug in Geekbench. Could you send me the output of the following command?

    cat /proc/cpuinfo

    Thanks!

This is a windows 2003 server NOT a Linux box.

My mistake! I'll look into the problem. Fortunately the number of logical processors is correct so the incorrect system information won't affect the benchmark results.

Where do you see logical processors? Is that threads?

Thanks dfernelius for pointing that out. The same wrong reporting is happenig to me: Dell Latitude D530 with Intel Core2 Duo T7500 gives me 1 processor, 1 core and 1 thread and a Geekbench Score which is way lower than other identical pc's. Is that score affected by wrong system information? See http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/548024

Yes. Logical processors is another term for threads.

    Hi Alessandro,

Even though Geekbench detected the wrong number of cores in your system, it still launched the correct number of workers (2). If you look closely at your results you'll see that both your single-threaded and multi-threaded results are low when compared against systems with similar processors.

    Best,
    John
