Score interpretation questions. 2012 MacBook Pro with score of 1579/5150

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro 2.3 GHZ that I have upgraded to 16 GB of RAM. I ran the Geekbench and came up with scores of 1579 single and 5150 dual core. I swapped the memory back to 4 GB of RAM and the scores were 1576 and 4828. These seem extremely low compared to what I'm seeing on your website where I see scores almost double that. I've shut down all other programs when doing the testing and had the power connected as well. The computer appears to be running fine, but I'm surprised with these scores. Any idea why they might be so low?

    Hi Dane,

    If you get consistently lower scores while all your apps are closed and on full power, it could be a hardware issue. There are many factors that can effect your Geekbench scores. What processor are you using?

    It's the 2.3 GHZ quad core that is in the 2012 MacBook Pro. Here is the display from another test I ran. It dropped to 1558 and 4972. Even my dual core 2012 13 inch 2.9 GHZ Macbook pro beat it with scores of 2569 and 6673.

    There are many factors that can affect the Geekbench results. It is likely a hardware or software issue, so if the problem persists or is affecting your usage, I would suggest taking it into a local service centre and getting it checked out.
