Geekbench on cloud VMs

Is geekbench 3 gong to give reliable results in a virtualized environment? I know there are other factors that may make a VM run faster or slower at one time or another (noisy neighbors etc). Beyond that, are there any known issues running geekbench on a public cloud based VM to see the difference between cloud providers?

My intention is to see what if any difference there is between an identical (or at least similar) size Windows and Linux based VMs on various cloud providers (AWS/Azure/Etc.).
