I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried it on (4) XServes (1,1 and 1,2) with same result. Works fine on MacBooks and Minis but no longer with Xeons? -really weird. When can this be fixed?

Same here: retina MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion. Used to work a few weeks ago.

Is this our punishment for not immediately upgrading to Geekbench 3?

I'm not sure what's going on here. Do you see any messages in the Console relating to Geekbench? You can open the Console application by searching for it in Spotlight.

Also, which version of Geekbench are you running? Both Geekbench 2 and Geekbench 3 should work on Mountain Lion without any issues.

    Thanks,
    John
